His name is mentioned no less than seventy-four times in the Word of God.In the miles of the earth be blessed. He departs with Lot from Haran.

So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went
with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed
out of Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son,
and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they
had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan;
and into the land of Canaan they came .Gen 12:1-5
God told Abraham to leave His land, family, and His inheritance.
“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he
should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not
knowing whither he went.” Heb 11:8
No doubt this had to be extremely difficult for Abraham to leave, but
He did as the Lord asked of Him.abraham passed the first test.
God calls Abraham; blesses him with a promise of Christ
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and
from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will
shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee,
and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless
them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall
all families of the earth be blessed.
These are promises god gave Abraham.
a. I will make of thee a great nation
b. I will bless thee, and make thy name great;
c. thou shalt be a blessing:
d. I will bless them that bless thee
e. curse him that curseth thee
f. in thee shall all g. families of the earth be blessed.
These promises were the strength, that kept Abraham to keep Him going
forward.

(2)The second test:The test of fellowship.
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God,
and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the
Friend of God. James 2:23
It is something great to be called the friend of God.Abraham lived His
life to be Gods friend,a rare and beautiful walk of love, based on Gods
grace and Abrahams faith. When grace and faith are combined, they
produce a wonderful thing, its called salvation.
This test marked Abraham as an outstanding example of obedience.
As We saw in James 2:23,Abraham believed and was imputed unto
Him for righteousness. This verse explains the Old Testament concept
of conversion. This does not speak of moral perfection,it refers to the
righteousness of God,which is only found in Jesus.
Jesus was not to come to the world until a thousand years later, yet the
writer says Abraham believed God. This simply means He believed gods
Son would actually come.god saw Abrahams heart,it revealed that He
truly believed the coming of the savior.
(3)The final test:The test of fidelity.
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had
received the promises offered up his only begotten son.Heb 11:17
Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting
that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence
also he received him in a figure. Heb 11:18-19
This is the test of fidelity.God called on Abraham to give His son Isaac
as a sacrifice.Abraham obeyed God,and offered Isaac.The Lord knew
Abrahams heart and supplied a ram for a scapegoat for sacrifice.
God also supplied us with a scapegoat,His Son Jesus,to be the sacrifice
for all sin.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is
not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hates the light, neither cometh to the
light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh
to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought
in God.John 3:16-21
Accept Jesus today,by grace through faith.
