Jesus is Our Refuge

Jesus is our refuge

eternal life 1

Jesus is our refuge.”Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble;thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.”Psalms 32:7

Everyone needs a hiding place.As a child I had a hiding place,where
I would go to be alone, read ,and write.there were times I just
wanted to meditate, to think, and day-dream.
Now that I am older I still need a hiding place.A place to meditate
upon Gods word,and pray.
David found a hiding place in the Lord;
He says the Lord had preserved Him,from trouble and surrounded
Him with songs of deliverance. He was comforted and found peace.
We see in Psalm 142:4 that earthly refuge failed.
“I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man who
would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul”
Mans earthly ways can never compare to the love of the Lord.We
fail all the time, because We do not seek refuge with the Lord.
(1)Why do We need a refuge ?
(a)We need a refuge from sin.
Everyone has sin residing in them.It is so strong that
We cannot break away from it,within ourselves. It takes the power of
the Holy Spirit to deliver us.Then and only then We can be
delivered.”But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto
you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeded from
the Father, he shall testify of me:” John 15:26
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for
if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I
will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of
sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”John 16:7-8

(b) We need refuge from Satan.
“The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms:
and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee;”
Deut 33:27
Our enemy is Satan, and he tries us any way He can.He uses things to upset
Us, to get us to sin.he is the master of deception, and can cause each one of
us to do things We wouldn’t necessarily do.
“Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto
sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead,
and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God”Romans 6:13
“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his
servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of
obedience unto righteousness”Romans 6:16
“But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have
your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin
is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our
Lord.”Romans 6:22-23
If saved We are partakers of righteousness, and not of evil.
(c) We need a hiding place from wrath.
Christ is the refuge from coming wrath,or anger.
Jesus Christ has delivered Us,Believers, from the wrath that is to come to
un-saved man.We have the blood of Jesus, that covers all sin.
“Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man
according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the end, the first and the last.”Rev 22:12-13
“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were
opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the
dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books,
according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it;
and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were
judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast
into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not
found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Rev 20:12-15
Jesus Christ is a refuge, a hiding-place from experience and its accusations,
from the power of sin within, from the power of Satan, from the wrath to
come, from all that man needs a hiding-place from. Who will come to this
hiding-place (R. A. Torrey)
You can miss the wrath that is to come by trusting in the Lord Jesus,as
your savior
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever
believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same
Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call
upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”
Romans 10:9-13

Call on Him today,it’s never to late.
