False Teachers ,Beware !
Text Matt 7:15-20
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly
they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather
grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good
fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth
evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth
not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits
ye shall know them.
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.1 John 4:1-3
There are many false teachers/preachers in the world today.Preaching a doctrine that is not the gospel of Christ. Some are hiding in plain sight,in established places of worship. One must know what the gospel of Christ is, before they can know if their teachers are teaching a false gospel.
So what is the gospel of Christ ?
The gospel of Christ is the good news for fallen man.
Isaiah 59:2, “Your sins have caused a separation between you and your God….”
There is hope though for those willing to accept the true word of God.
John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.John 1:14, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”There is no other gospel given to man,but the gospel Christ gave.
The Bible tells us what the gospel is in 1 Cor. 15:1-4,
“Now I make known to you brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…”
Paul made the gospel known to all that would listen. The Gospel is that Christ became the mediator between men and God.He died on the cross in our place,so we would have perfect sacrifice,to remove all sin from man.It is by Christ that We are put back into fellowship with God the Father.
1 Pet. 2:24, “and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”
Anyone teaching another gospel, other than the gospel of Christ is a false teacher.
Some signs of a false teacher.
1.One that teaches salvation other than by Christ.Acts 4:12, “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.”
2.One that teaches a works salvation. Eph.2:8,9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
3.One that deny’s the existence of the Holy Spirit.John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto You.
4.Those who deny the Trinity,Father,Son .Holy Spirit. Matt 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
5.One who teaches a money minded doctrine.
These are just a few examples of false teachers, and their beliefs.
Be careful not to get caught in the trap of false teachers.
